A terrific dream was fulfilled recently when Good Morning America
co-host Robin Roberts visited Josephine Simmons, a senior fan
of hers who is also battling cancer. The senior, who lives in
NJ, an hour away from ABC headquarters in NY, asked if she could
receive an autographed picture of Robin. Robin went above and
beyond the call of duty and offered to hand-deliver the autographed
picture herself.
Robin made the two-hour round trip to visit Josephine, delivered
the photo and proceeded to spend a delightful hour with Josephine
and her family.
So thank you Robin, for taking time and giving back!
We couldn't make dreams like these come true without gracious
people like you.

Although
she is confined to a wheelchair with rheumatoid arthritis, Betty Clanton
is also an inspiring Second Wind Dreams volunteer.
Betty recently saw a PBS special entitled "Caring for Your Parents",
which was sponsored by Harrah’s Entertainment, and said her dream
would be to personally thank Harrah’s for its sponsorship of the PBS
documentary. Harrah’s senior VP for government relations and communications,
Jan Jones, who was also the two-term mayor of Las
Vegas in the 1990’s, graciously flew from Las Vegas to Atlanta to
fulfill Betty’s dream. Betty is a resident of a nursing home in metro
Atlanta. |
