President Bush Fulfills a Second Wind Dream!

Purple Heart Winner and former major league All-Star pitcher Lou Brissie recently received the ultimate honor of a Second Wind Dream visit with President Bush on the tarmac at Dobbins Air Reserve Base in metro Atlanta. This meeting was granted in recognition of Brissie’s service to his country during World War II, as well as for his longtime mentoring of soldiers wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan at the VA Medical Center in Augusta, GA. Brissie, 84, who resides in North Augusta, SC, fulfilled a 45-year old dream of meeting a president. In 1963, as a regional director for the President’s Council of Physical Fitness, he took part in a conference at the White House, but a last-minute change of schedule prevented President Kennedy from attending.

Second Wind Dreams Would Like to Thank
Robin Roberts, Co-Host of Good Morning America
!

A terrific dream was fulfilled recently when Good Morning America co-host Robin Roberts visited Josephine Simmons, a senior fan of hers who is also battling cancer. The senior, who lives in NJ, an hour away from ABC headquarters in NY, asked if she could receive an autographed picture of Robin. Robin went above and beyond the call of duty and offered to hand-deliver the autographed picture herself.

Robin made the two-hour round trip to visit Josephine, delivered the photo and proceeded to spend a delightful hour with Josephine and her family.

So thank you Robin, for taking time and giving back! We couldn't make dreams like these come true without gracious people like you.

Below are some of our other great dreams... Can you make a dream come true?
